Located in southern Jiangsu Province, the city of Suzhou is right in the center of the Yangtze Delta. 42% of the city’s area is covered by water, with the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal dividing the city. Often called the “Venice of the Orient”, Suzhou enjoys a mild climate all year round. The city does not have any airport and the nearest major international airport is the Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport located in the city of Shanghai, It is 86 kilometers from the heart of Suzhou. From the airport, you can take a bullet train, bus or a private car rental to Suzhou.

Suzhou has a number of appealing attractions including the Cloud Rock Leaning Pagoda, Suzhou Amusement and Water Park, Weitang Chinese Pearl and Gem City, Guan Qian Shopping Street, Suzhou Silk Museum, Giant Wheel Park of Suzhou, and the Mudu Ancient Town. If you would like to tour the city via its canals, you can enjoy a cruise along its “water” streets. Suzhou is known for its breathtaking classical gardens, some of which date back to the sixth Century BC. In fact, its classical gardens are UNESCO World Heritage sites including the Humble Administrator's Garden, Garden of the Master of the Nets, Lingering Garden , Villa with Embracing Beauty, Lion Grove Garden, Couple's Garden Retreat, Blue Wave Pavilion, and  the Garden of Pleasance. These gardens are a reflection of the nobility, lifestyle, and class of the ancient Chinese people.
